Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Lynn Cain, resident of McCrory, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. Kenny was 66 years of age. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in McCrory with funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at the McCrory First Church of the Nazarene. Bro. Galen Mason was the officiating minister. Interment was in Woodman Cemetery with Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Kenny was born in McCrory on July 5th, 1945 to W.C. “Clum” and Ora Wright Cain. He attended school in McCrory and Cotton Plant and was a graduate of Cotton Plant High School. Kenny was married on January 29, 1965 to the former Marion Ann Hale who survives. In the early 1980’s an evangelist came to the Nazarene Church and Kenny gave his life to the Lord. He loved life, people, animals especially his dog Leroy and cat Buffy. Traveling was among the things he enjoyed and he always included trips to Louisiana to buy strawberries as well as heavy equipment. A large building located on Hwy 64 in the city limits of McCrory was known as Kenny’s hangout. There he liked being surrounded by people, cooking, eating and watching ballgames or just hanging out. On October 9th of this year Kenny redidacted his life to the Lord and was given a devotional book which he read every day. His daily devotionals will be a source of comfort to his family. Kenny lost the battle with cancer but he won the war when he gave his life to Christ. Kenny is survived by his wife, Marion Ann Hale Cain, one son and his wife, Joey and Kelly Cain of McCrory, two daughters, Shari Cain of Maumelle, AR and Kristi Prescott and husband Steven of Frisco, Texas, one brother and his wife, James and Betty Cain of McCrory, three sisters; Gail Martinsen and husband Jon of Wynne, Virginia Knight and husband Danny of McCrory, Charlotte Anderson and husband Everett of Bald Knob, four grandchildren, Chris and Chase Cain, Hayden and Grayson Prescott, his dog and cat, Leroy and Buffy, devoted nieces and nephews, a host of wonderful friends and a great church family who helped him through his battle with cancer. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kenneth Lynn Cain, Jr. Pallbearers were Alan Bull, Wayne Huntman, Bill Crawford, Frank Wolfe, Clayton Jackson and Charles Dallas. Honorary pallbearers were Walter Yates, Billy Veazey, Jack Lamkins, Gayron Polston, George Smith and Birdell Alumbaugh. The family has requested memorial be sent to the First Church of the Nazarene, c/o Boyce and Patsy Brown, Hwy 145 South, McCrory, Arkansas, 72101.
