Maria (Kiss) Dougherty, 83, of Freedom Village died Friday, November 25, 2011. She was the beloved wife of James E. Dougherty, PhD. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Sandor and Maria Albrecht Kiss. Maria was a member of Letitia Penn Doll Club of Philadelphia and a charter member of the American-Hungarian Federation. Surviving her in addition to her husband, James, are her children, M. Susan Burke, MD; Christina Dougherty-Dolan VMD; Peter S. Dougherty of Chapel Hill, NC; and her grandchildren, Mike, Dan, Kelly, Doug, Theresa, Katie, Chris, Becky and Ellie. She was preceded in death by her son, David S. Dougherty, MD. There will be a private viewing for her family at the Harris Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd 107 South 17th Avenue, Coatesville. Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken.
