Ronald James DePolo, 57, of Paola, KS, passed away from this life surrounded by his family on July 20, 2011 at KU Medical Center. Memorial Services will be 7:30 pm Monday, July 25, 2011, at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, KS, 913-592-2244. Visitation will be from 6 – 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Ron was born October 20, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio to Peter M and Joan (Polenz) DePolo. Ron married Gail Sposit on July 21, 1973 in Greenville, SC. They lived in Strongsville, Ohio before moving to Paola in 2002. He was a salesman for CTW Electrical since 1989. Ron really enjoyed driving a school bus for the Blue Valley School District. His greatest relaxation came from going fishing and he loved the companionship of his dogs. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, E J Shappee. Ron is survived by Gail, his wife of 38 years and best friend; son Kevin DePolo and his wife Denise Dobbins; daughters Kristine DePolo of Spring Hill and Karen Shappee and her husband David of Aurora, CO; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Eli Shappee; his parents Peter and Joan DePolo; and five siblings.
