Robert Harrison

East Millinocket-Robert Willson Harrison passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at a Bangor hospital with his loving family by his side. Robert was born August 16, 1920 in Marysville, Kansas to the late Bernard and Alice (McGeeney) Harrison. Bob was a gunner's mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1943, he met and married Marjorie E. Mackenzie in Portland, ME. Bob was employed by the Great Northern Paper Co. for over 37 years, retiring in 1984. Bob was an active member and past president of the East Branch Sno-Rovers Club and a member of the First Congregational Church of E. Millinocket. Together, he and "Marge" raised four children who were truly blessed to have wonderful parents. Bob's children would also like to thank Maine Veterans' Home for all the support. Mr. Harrison is survived by his children Robert E. Harrison and his wife Martha of Scottsville, KY, Vickijean Madore and her husband William of Lincoln, Evelyn Grissett and husband Windle of Granbury, TX, and Mary Ouellette and her husband Edward of Brewer, ME, and his loving grandchildren Nicole, Catherine, Sara, Rachel, Jamie and Amanda. Bob is also survived by his sister Margaret Lynott of Wakefield, MI, sister-in-law Gloria Ferland of Millinocket, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Harrison is predeceased by his wife Marjorie of 58 years, step-father John Davis, sister Mary Hanna and his great-grandson Dominick Tennies. Friends are invited to greet the family at the First Congregational Church, East Millinocket on Saturday, January 7, 2006 from 12pm until 2pm. A funeral service will be held at 2pm with Pastor Andrew McLeod officiating. Donations in memory of Bob can be made to Maine Veterans' Home, 44 Hogan Rd. Bangor, ME 04401. R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
