Life Story for Lois Fairley R.N.

Fairley, Lois Ann (nee Cowan) R.N.
July 6, 1931 – July 19, 2007. Died peacefully at the Hospice Village in Windsor, Ontario after a brief struggle with cancer at the age of 76. She is survived by her beloved husband and friend of 52 years Harry. She was a devoted and inspiring Christian mother to her sons Grant (Cari), Brian (Carol) and John. She will be missed by her cherished grandchildren Doug, Beth, Emma, Scott and Morgan who each enjoyed a special place in Grandma's heart and life. She was the daughter of the late James and Grace Cowan of Toronto and sister of Joan (the late George) Meuser, Doug Cowan (Ann Sullivan) and Caylee (the late Graham) Bailey. We are comforted by our faith and hope for eternal life in Christ that Lois lived and taught us as a family throughout her life.Lois was born in Toronto and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Grace Hospital where she nursed until retirement. She served as the provincial President of the Ontario Nurses Association and on the board of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. We thank the many friends and healthcare colleagues for their care and especially staff of The Hospice Village. If you so desire, donations to the The Hospice Village, Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, Heart of the City Hospital Foundation (Hotel Dieu Grace) or your charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Friday from 2-5 and 7-9p.m. Funeral Saturday at 1pm at Families First Funeral Home, (519-969-5841) 3260 Dougall Ave. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
