Jeffrey Curry Wenatchee, Washington Obituary

Jeffrey Curry

Jeffrey Thomas Curry was born on October 25, 1963, in Renton, WA and passed away on June 4, 2008, at the age of 44. Jeff lived most of his life in the Seattle area, but relocated to the Wenatchee Valley. He worked in construction since moving here, often working with his older brother, Bill. Bill introduced Jeff to his longtime friend and employer, Barry Morgan and later, they worked together at Colwell Construction and often helped each other with side jobs. Jeff fulfilled his longtime dream and started his own company as a contractor in January of 2007, but the diagnosis of his cancer took that away in the summer of 2007. In 1990, Jeff's daughter, Misty Rae Curry, was born. Misty graduates from Hazen High School in Renton, WA on June 13, 2008. It was important for Jeff to be present for Misty's graduation, trying his hardest, however, God had other plans. Her Dad will be there in spirit. In 2000, Jeff met the love of his life, Pam Blaufuss. Finding out what true love was, they were engaged in 2002, they were to be married this summer. Together, they enjoyed trivia, their love for music, goofy times and just being with each other. Since moving to the Wenatchee area, Jeff has become a most loved member of the community. He was often seen, or rather heard, participating in his passion for singing, which he enjoyed since childhood. He loved karaoke and the opportunity it gave him to belt out a tune. Jeff quickly became a staple of karaoke in the area; he often enjoyed hosting when the opportunity arose and was usually found at Trav's Restaurant and Lounge and later, 5T's on karaoke night. While working for Hyperblast in the ship yards of Seattle in the early 90's, Jeff was exposed to asbestos and in July of 2007, was diagnosed with Mesothelioma because of it. Jeff fought bravely, but lost the fight on the afternoon of June 4. Jeff had an amazing spirit and will be greatly missed. His sense of humor comforted his loved ones throughout his life and he will be sorely missed. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, William Manuel Curry. He is survived by his fiancé, Pam Blaufuss of East Wenatchee; his daughters, Misty Rae Curry of Renton, Jaime Fancher of San Diego, CA and Jennifer Calhoun of Renton, WA; his mother, Vicki Zarodney of Branson, MO; his brothers, Bill Curry of East Wenatchee and Ken Curry of Malaga; his sister, Misty Kirvan of Freemont, CA; and his best friend, who was like a brother, Joe Scholz of Ording, WA. Visitation will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley on Monday, June 9, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Celebration Lutheran Church, 801 8th Street NE, East Wenatchee.
