Hazel Graham

GRAHAM, Hazel Lenore (nee Pick) of Woodingford Lodge, Ingersoll and formerly of Embro died peacefully and surrounded by family at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll on March 22nd, 2009 in her 86th year. Hazel is survived by her children Joan and Stan Shepley and J. Neil Graham, all of Embro. She is predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Graham (1985). She will be greatly missed by grandchildren Susan Shepley, Jonathon Graham and his wife Carla, Michael Graham, and Carrie Graham. Hazel was born October 15, 1923 in North Norwich, daughter of the late Eric and Carrie Pick. She married Jack Graham in 1952. Hazel had a special relationship with her brothers and sisters; Doris Swance and the late Floyd, Alan Pick and sister-in-law Carol, Nora Hanson and the late Archie, Edith Clarke and the late Marv, sister-in-law Vera Waud and husband Jack, and she is predeceased by her brother Richard and sister-in-law Jean, and brother Ralph. Hazel is also survived by sister-in-law Erma Graham and pre-deceased by brother-in-law Murl Graham, sister-in-law Muriel Gehring and her husband Stanley. Hazel was very proud to be a nurse and trained at Victoria Hospital in London after which she worked in public health. She cherished, and was cherished, by many friends from her school days, travels, and community. We will miss her love of family, her independence, sense of humour, and conversation. Hazel was long-time member of Knox United Church, Embro and the United Church Women, and the Embro West Zorra Women’s Institute. Relatives and friends will be welcomed at Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Knox United Church Embro on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Judy Campbell officiating. Interment will take place at North Embro Cemetery later in the spring.
