VIRGINIA BEACH- James Barton Ewing, 24, of the 900 block of Edwin Drive passed away on February 3, 2009. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of Judith E. Ewing and the late William B. Ewing.
Besides his mother, James is survived by a sister, Jessica Marie Ewing of Virginia Beach; a paternal grandfather, James Barton Ewing, Sr. of Kure Beach, NC; two aunts, Pat Leisenring and her husband, Richard of Kure Beach, NC, and their son, David and Jane Fox and her husband, John of Norwich, England and their children Kelly and Thomas; three uncles, Jonathan Ashby and his wife, Jackie of London, England and their daughters, Jessica and Juliet and Julian Ashby and his wife, Susan of Norwich, England and their children Joshua and Jade, and lastly, James Helfrich of Lynchburg, VA and his daughters, Samantha and Sarah. James is also survived by his cousins, Robert and Amy Morgan of Norfolk, VA and their sons, Nathaniel and Michael. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Doris Marie Ewing; his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Dorothy Ashby; and his aunt, Nancy Helfrich.
James left this world much too early and he will be missed by all, especially his loving mother and sister.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 2 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel with Rev. Ken Carlton officiating. Interment will be private.
