Stanley Kapica, Sr.

Stanley P. Kapica Sr. passed away Monday, August 31, at CareOne at Wall in the arms of his beloved wife of 67 years, Jean and devoted family. He leaves behind his loving son, Stan Jr., devoted daughter-in-law, Linda, grandsons Jonathan and Christopher, his sister Dorothy Wanzor and many nieces and nephews. Stan Sr. graduated from East Orange High School ranking fifteen in a class of 650. After graduation he attended Rutgers University. He served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer Radar Specialist aboard the USS Burleigh APA 95, which carried officers to the South Pacific. When Stan returned home from the war he became a senior executive with Scientific Glass Apparatus Company in Bloomfield, where he worked until his retirement. Stan was a quiet man with a passion for his wife, Jean, the tennis court where they met, fishing and walking the boardwalk. Funeral arrangements were private through the O'Brien Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the organization for the Canonization of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
