Robert Griswold
Robert Earle Griswold, age 80, of Stratford and formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2009 at home, with his wife Susan of 51 years by his side. He was born on January 12, 1929 in Milford to the late Earle and Madelyn Johnston Griswold. Bob was one of the original founders of Center Auto Supply of Stratford in 1960. He semi-retired from Center in 1990 and his son David continued running the family business. Mr. Griswold was a radio control plane enthusiast and member of several clubs including the RCCC of CT. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his son David E. Griswold. Survivors in addition to his wife include, a beloved daughter Patti Mraz and her husband Jay of Milford, a brother Gary Griswold and his wife Deborah of Trumbull, a daughter in law Karen Griswold of Milford, grandchildren Alicia, Vincent, Matthew, Bryan, Amy, Robert, Staci and Richard, several nieces, nephews and his beloved dog Piper. Calling hours will be held Monday December 7, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. Prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10am. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CT Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.Obituary
