Leo Ellsworth Beutel, age 82, of Milford, passed away on Wednesday February 27, 2008, at Milford Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1925, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Leo H. and Helen Outhouse Beutel. Mr. Beutel was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII Aboard the USS Holton, Destroyer Escort #703. He was an Electrician with local 488 IBEW and was a member of the VFW 7788, American Legion Post 196 and the Destroyer Escort Sailor's Association. He was the beloved husband, of Marilyn Collins Beutel of 59 years, , devoted father of Leo T Beutel and his wife Joyce of Milford, David Beutel and his wife Michelle of Prospect, Linda Evangelisti and husband Wayne of Milford, Marilyn Kopchak and husband Alan of Milford, Carol Massimin and husband Garrett of Port St Lucie, FL, Susan Garlock and husband Darren of Milford, Jacqueline Bodnar and husband David of Beacon Falls, cherished grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 1 great grand son, several nieces nephews and cousins, also survived by brother-in-laws Jack Collins of Huntington, Edward Collins and wife Jean of Milford, sister-in laws Irene Clark and husband Bob of Milford, Betty Collins of Shelton and Betty Collins of Bridgeport. Calling hours will be held Friday February 29th 2008 at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. From 4-8PM .A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday at 9:00 am in St Mary Church. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.
