Patricia Haws

The Family announces with sorrow her death following a brief illness at the St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto on Wednesday February 3rd, at the age of 80 years. Pat was the loving wife of Don, her husband of 57 years. Pat was predeceased by her parents Betty and Mort Fellman and stepmother Doris. Pat leaves to mourn, her husband Don and four adult children Stephen (Mary), David (Margie), Kathryn Chadwick (Brett) and Sandra Managhan (Rick). Loving sister to Linda Cundari (Joey) and Judy Ewing and special cousin Elizabeth Hogle. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by six grandchildren Keturah, Amy, Kyle, Michael, Emily and Sarah. Pat trained at the Toronto East General Hospital, became a registered nurse and worked for several years at the North Bay General Hospital (Scollard site). She taught several refresher courses to nursing students at Canadore College. Pat’s lust for life remained with her till parting. Her kindness and compassion left a footprint on every life she touched. Pat enjoyed the comradery and friendship over six decades with her nursing classmates and their yearly reunions. Dearest to her were Don and her grandchildren. She never missed one opportunity to share her love with them. Together Don and Pat savored their little piece of heaven on Trout Lake, creating memories that family and friends will always treasure. The family acknowledges the excellent health care staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre and at the St. Joseph’s Health Centre. In particular the family is very grateful for the care and compassion of Dr. Michael Leckie and Kayla Pavone, RN. Family will receive relatives and friends at the Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11th, 2016 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. A Christian celebration will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 12th, 2016 at Christ Church Anglican, 312 Greenwood Avenue followed by a gathering at the Best Western Hotel, 700 Lakeshore Drive (accommodations available). Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
