Bambina Lalama, 97, of 308 North Ashland Avenue died the afternoon of February 12, 2007 at her residence. She was born November 9, 1909 in Pacentro, Italy and was the daughter of the late Pietro and Luisa DeChellis. She married Giuseppe J. Lalama on February 11, 1929. He preceded her in death January 1, 1978.

Mrs. Lalama was a member of St. Lucy Church of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

She is survived by four daughters Mary R. Lalama, Louise L. Hiler & husband Harry, Elvera M. Henderson & husband Donald and Pauline A. Lalama all of New Castle, PA; two sons Paul J. Lalama and Peter J. Lalama & wife Josephine all of New Castle, PA; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three daughters Emma A. Sidorchuk, Amelia L. Vasilyscik and infant Mary M. Lalama; two sons Edward C. Lalama and John J. Lalama; a grandson Harry N. Hiler, Jr.; three brothers Gaetano DeChellis, Giovanni DeChellis and Vincenzo DeChellis and four sisters Philomena Avolio, Enrichetta Pelino, Annunziata Rubino and Virginia Mariani.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., located at 941 S. Mill Street, New Castle, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. Lucy Church of St. Vincent de Paul Parish. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for the church. The Reverend Father Frank Erdeljac will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
