Tina M. Godwin, age 41, of Carbondale, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois. Gravesite services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, with Jason Brandon officiating with burial at Woodlawn I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Woodlawn, Illinois. Pettett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Tina was born on October 27, 1968, in Red Bay, Alabama, to Charlie Jackson and Ollie (McLaughlin) Jackson. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Godwin was baptized at the First Christian Church in Murphysboro. Tina married Bradley Godwin on November 8, 1996, in Carbondale, and he survives. Other survivors include four children Corey Tolbert and his wife Jamie Tolbert of Marion, Dakotta Tolbert, Garrett Godwin, and Deztinee Godwin, all of Carbondale; one grandchild Cash Douglas Tolbert of Marion; two sisters Diane Bastien and her husband Randy Bastien of Murphysboro, and Kathryn Regelbrugge of Plano, Illinois; four nieces and eight nephews including P. J. Bastien and his wife Courtney Bastien; and six great nieces and two great nephews including Corabelle Bastien; and one good friend Wesley Gentry of Marion, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents.
